What are you going to do when you retire?

What are you going to do when you retire?

What’s on your retirement bucket list?  Clean out the garage? Take your dog on more walks? How about traveling to all the places you wanted to go, but have never been before? How about spending some quality time watching your grandchildren grow up? Or maybe do some volunteering in your community? These are all on my list every year! So, what are you going to do when you retire?

Picture yourself traveling to the south of Spain for a couple of months in the winter. Did you know a couple could easily live on $1600 per month in Spain or Portugal? And this includes the rent of a great apartment! Sounds like a great way to escape the cold! When winter is over, you can head back home and play with your grandchildren when the weather gets warmer.

The fun doesn’t stop there. The next winter you can pick another spot. How about traveling to Costa Rica for two months? The cost of living is low there as well. You can easily find a furnished apartment for around $600 to $700 per month. And the weather is amazing.

You don’t have to go forever!

When you come back home, you can take up new hobbies, and make life long friends by volunteering in your community. Let’s explore the world together, one country at a time, or even one state at a time. At RetireBook, we can help you open the next chapter in your life. Read our stories, or better yet, contribute a story of your own. We would love to hear from you.

Cheryl and her husband have just recently retired and live in the Pacific Northwest. She has been enjoying her herself by traveling around the world, playing with her grandchildren, and she frequently volunteers in her community. There is certainly never a dull moment with Cheryl. She cheerfully co-founded RetireBook and wants to share her energy, hoping that it inspires her readers to live life at its fullest.
