According to recent studies there has been a massive increase in cannabis use among the 55 to 64 year olds users of about 400% in comparison to only 13% among the 18 to 25 year olds. This increase is taking place because of rapid legalization of medical marijuana among the various states in USA and also in Canada where people mostly suffer from sleep problems even before they turn 40 or 50. So when seniors figure out that it’s easier to opt for medical recreational drugs than pharmaceutical pills and medications, they tend to submit to the grooviest and greenest alternative to medications which is Cannabis. This image is of medical marijuana bottles or they are available in medical marijuana bags.
A Brief History and Survey
Marijuana has had a tough time since the advent of the 20th century as it was legal before that and has therefore been redeemed in the recent years by the legalization of it in the States and Canada because of people finally realizing its medicinal qualities and setting aside its harmful side effects. This happened when lots and lots of doctors starting recommending it after it was ridiculed for many decades and also being banned by the Marijuana Tax Act in 1937 which decreased its production and availability in the US but it fought its way through and it’s legal in 33 of 50 states as of 2019 and mind you this marijuana is medical marijuana. Recreational marijuana is legal in only 10 states as of 2019.

Medical marijuana is different from the recreational drug teenagers are used to nowadays. You can’t just buy it off the street or grow it improperly, it’s a very delicate product which is delicately grown. It comes from the pure uncut Indica plant. The “High” or buzz you get from marijuana chemicals (mind-altering ones) is used to treat patients of various medical problems so it’s a very beneficial plant to treat different issues.

Some pains that marijuana helps to relieve are: –

Why the sudden attraction to marijuana among seniors?
After the boom in marijuana users from 2006 to 2013 of about 250 percent it is not likely to stop as it being up to 400 percent now and this increase in attention is because of the following factors: –
- It’s safer and more cost efficient than the hundreds of pills and medications and refill structures defined by the big medicine companies.
- Just to try it and find out if you like or not and most people find the comfort that they don’t find in pills.
- The most probable reason is that it helps in sleep which is a major plus point among the seniors which have difficulty with it.
How to consume medical marijuana?
Some of the ways to do that are: –
- Smoke it.
- Consume it with food and drinks.
- Vaporize it.
- Rubbing it on you.
- Take it in the form of pills which is the least popular method to do that.
Whatever method you choose to intake medical marijuana is up to you but you should always consult the proper doctor and get a valid prescription to use the proper drug for the proper disease.
