Retire in Comfort, Texas

Retire in Comfort, Texas

Now who wouldn’t want to retire in Comfort, Texas?   About 50 miles northwest of San Antonio, Comfort sits nestled (comfortably!) in the hill country and is listed in the National Register of Historical Places.  Several pioneer buildings are still standing, including original log cabins, German fahwerk (gingerbread) homes and native limestone buildings.  A large part of the city as been designated a National Historic District.

Today, it is a popular tourist district with numerous campgrounds along the Guadalupe River.  There are over 2300 people who live in Comfort, and 14.5% are over 65.   The area enjoys a very low crime rate, a low cost of living and low storm rate.   Homes can be had in the $158,000 range and rentals run $600-800 per month.  See what these fine folks have to say about their great little town.  (We are not in any way promoting Wrangler Jeans, but loved this video they made.)  Retire in Comfort, Texas!
